Well the time of departure is nearing, I can't believe I will be moving across the globe to teach! I had looked into this after my first year of teaching, but most of the places required 2 years teaching experience......6 years later, here I am! This all started as a "joke" from my dad. One day I was over at my parent's place and my dad said he had found a job for me, he started reading this add on Craigslist and laughing as he read and the only thought going through my mind was that I could pay off my student loans that were going nowhere fast! I looked into it further, filled out an application, had a phone interview, in-person interview one Saturday morning and boom, here I am! I am excited, scared, nervous, and sad. I have no real idea what to expect, I have read tons of information on what is "might" be like, but I won't know for sure until I get there. I am most nervous about having to drive, my mom read that they have no yellow lights, red and green only which can result in accidents :/. When all is said and done, I am sure it will be an experience of a lifetime and I am glad I am trying something new.
First things first, I need to pack up my apartment (minus furniture) and store it at my sister's house in her garage. I do not have a departure date, simple a "sometime in mid-August" is all they can really tell us. Right now I am currently waiting for my documents to come back from Washington D.C. authenticated by the United Arab Emirates Embassy. Until next time.....
